Mad Men: Season 6 - Updates

Mad Men

Season 6 - Updates

AMC's critically-acclaimed television drama, Mad Men, has finished up its fifth season, with Season 6 not too far away (hopefully!). The creators have been arduously tight-lipped regarding any plot details or premiere date, but any small clue will be compiled below. Haste new Mad Men!

Mad Men Season 6 Updates Film'Stache

The latest...

January 27, 2013: Both January Jones and Elisabeth Moss have let slip at some character clues for Season 6 of Mad Men. Jones was limited in her appearances in Season 5 due to her real-life pregnancy, but promises to be more prominent in the upcoming series: "I'm in it more," January says in an interview with Vulture, "We're halfway done [shooting] - and I've gotten to do a lot of weird stuff." Jones continues to let slip that Betty will never "be completely happy", regarding her married life, and will keep searching for "something else, so even if she finds [happiness], I don't know if she'd recognise it."

Elisabeth Moss, however, is a little more tight-lipped about her character Peggy: "I can say even less now than I could before, because I used to be able to say that I was at Sterling Cooper, and now I can't even say where I'm working. So I can say even less," says Moss, "The only thing I can say is that she's trying on new things, She's trying to figure out who she is, still, and she hasn't quite found it yet. But I think her journey in trying to figure out who she is... she's getting closer. She's getting closer."

January 26, 2013: New black and white stills from the upcoming season of Mad Men:

Mad Men: Peggy - Film'Stache
Peggy left Sterling Cooper Draper Price at the end of last season. This photo suggests she may return to the firm, but not happily...

Don doesn't look too happy with his wife, so we may see him returning to his "old ways" and give way to temptation with other women. Could this mean a second ex-wife for Draper? Also, notice the women's hairstyles - very 70''s, suggesting Mad Men has moved forward a few years.

Everyone still drinking and smoking, the signature of the television show. Good to know not too much has changed. Check out Pete's sideburns! Match that with the previous photo - the 70's have hit Mad Men.

This photo shows returning characters Ken Cosgrove, Harry Crane, Roger, Joan and Bertram Cooper. Season 6 is feeling familiar character-wise!

January 23, 2013: Entertainment Weekly reports in an interview with Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner that you should 1) know what happens in the last episode of Season 5, as the new season is in reference to the events in the last season (I sense a rewatch brewing), and 2) the 2 hour premiere episode of Season 6 will have its own story and will "foreshadow the rest of the season." Weiner also gave slip some more clues about the upcoming season, including possible plot points and character development.

January 23, 2013: AMC's Mad Men will return for its sixth season on April 7, with a special two-hour premiere! Ok now, get excited.

January 9, 2013: Louie Schuth at Hypable has published an approach to deduct the date of Season 6's premiere, as follows: Aaron Paul tweeted the Breaking Bad premiere date early, saying it is to be July 14. AMC is keeping this under wraps, but let's assume it's accurate. Also assume that Mad Men Season 6 will have to be over by the time Breaking Bad premieres, and working on a 13-episode season (as per the norm), meaning the LATEST the season could start would be April 14. The earliest could be April 7, as The Walking Dead's Season 3 would have to be over and done with. KEEN!
