The Walking Dead: Season 3, Part 2 - Updates

The Walking Dead

Season 3 Part 2 - Updates

The third season of AMC's The Walking Dead has been split in two over the end of year break, returning February 10, 2013. With anticipation rising for the epic battle between The Governor and Rick + the crew, Part 2 of Season 3 couldn't come sooner!

The latest...

February 10, 2013: Today is the day! Unfortunately I've been moving house for the past couple of days, and have been unable to update The Walking Dead updates, but y'all will survive! Part 2 of Season 3 premieres in roughly 10 minutes. In the meantime, watch these sneak peaks at the first season here. Enjoy the episode, and fill my Twitter feed with all The Walking Dead goodness!

February 5, 2013: A flood of zombie news has rocked Film'Stache overnight in wake of the lead up to the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead. Scroll for new photos, an interview with ex-showrunner Glen Mazzara and the FIRST TWO MINUTES of Season 3 Episode 9 "The Suicide King"

  • New photos of the upcoming episode "The Suicide King" have been released, including shots of Andrea, a "sexy" new zombie, and former Steelers receiver Hines Ward zombified, seen below:

  • AMC has aired the first two minutes of "Suicide King" during the Season 1 marathon, which can be seen below!

February 4, 2013: ABC2 Radio Sydney host Simon Marnie caught up with Norman Reedus, who spoke deeply about the series and revealed that the upcoming episodes are "a fight within the fight" and describes it as being "a full blown war" - catch the whole audio interview here!

February 4, 2013: Channel Guide Magazine recently interviewed Steven Yeun, who says that this season of The Walking Dead "is a realisation of the whole idea of 'You can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.' That theme will permeate through the rest of the season."

Yeun also touched on the epic battle-to-come between The Governor and Rick, "Who's to say what's right and wrong," "And who's to say what's right? It's just where you identify. What's interesting now is to see two different modes of survival clash," "It's going to make for some interesting television" - Amen! See the full interview with Steven Yeun here.

February 3, 2013: ComicBook.com is currently hosting all five The Walking Dead mid-season premiere teasers. Click here to check them out. Try not to die in anticipation, you've been warned....

January 27, 2013: Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, has let slip that things aren't going to slow down in the second half of Season 3, "I do know that the last half of this season is crazy. I mean it gets really, really crazy. There's a few more deaths. I hate it when people die on our show. But the storyline is really heavy. It's really dark and heavy. It's amazing the last half, especially."

January 22, 2013: New preview video over at Spoiler TV, showing Rick, Michonne and Carl in a town that looks to be booby trapped for walkers. Rumours suggest that this may be where Rick is reunited with his pal Morgan, from Season 1. Another shot shown is Merle knocking his brother (and crowd favourite) Daryl to the ground. Fans speculate that this situation, which we saw in the last episode back in December, is merely a distraction meant for the Governor and the crowd, in an attempt to save him (explain to me how that works?). Also shown is the Governor sending Andrea back to the prison where our guys are based, presumably to act as a spy. Fast forward a couple of flash scenes and Andrea is hovering over the Governor with a knife, tossing up whether to kill him. And finally, looks like Rick is facing some leadership problems.. Trouble in zombie paradise..?

January 19, 2013: Rumours circulating online that The Walking Dead's fearless leader, Rick, may be hindered in some way, making Daryl the "defacto" leader. "Hindered?", you say? Knowing the series past, it would be no surprise (but still a huge shock) if Rick is killed off at the end of this season. We know for sure that Rick makes it to Episode 15 "The Sorrowful Life", where he is betrayed by someone. Could this be Rick's end...?

January 19, 2013: AMC CEO Josh Sapan has addressed Glen Mazzara's shock exit as showrunner for The Walking Dead (and replaced by executive producer Scott Gimple). The Hollywood Reporter recently interviewed Sapan, who says that parting ways with Mazzara was mutual. It has been previously reported that it was The Walking Dead's original comic-book writer Robert Kirkman who had forced Glen Mazzara out of the job.
